Pre-Candidacy Presentation

The Pre-Candidacy (PC) is a mid-program evaluation for graduate students pursuing an MFA at the University of Montana. Candidates must present their research which includes: materials & processes, contemporary issues, historical references, artist's statement, and thesis direction. After the 20 - 25 minute presentation, faculty may ask questions for another 20 - 25 minutes.

My PC Presentation was held in the Knowles Gallery, Fine Arts Building at the University of Montana on December 1st, 2021. I gave a PowerPoint presentation in my exhibition, Small Moments, which featured mixed-media sculptures I created during my time in graduate school. Only current faculty and the first-year grads were allowed to attend in-person, while the presentation was recorded live on Zoom.
